STATUS QUO IN USA

All praises for Allah Karim; Immeasurable Darood-o-Salam on Rasool-Ullah Salalaho Allaihe Wasalam [SAWS].

Prayers for all.

The costliest and dirtiest election campaign in US history has thrown up the status quo. Barak Hossain Obama, who created history in 2008 by becoming (African American) US President, has recreated it. Scenes at his campaign headquarters Chicago are marked by jubilation, relief  and optimism. Mitt Romany was gracious in conceding and offering an olive branch to the winning candidate. 

(pray our leaders too learn to be graceful in both victory and defeat and as the speeches by both winner and loser centered on America and nothing else, for us also our country should be first and supreme in whatever we do or stand for).

President Obama was also affable in his victory speech. Focus of his speech was internal rather than external. By the time He leaves the White House in early 2017; he will have to work on both internal and external scenarios with novelty and purpose if he wants to leave behind a legacy worth remembering. His stint as President will be remembered how he deals with the multifarious problems (internal and international) confronting him, few of which could be:

War on Terror and its fallout. 

Deeply wounded and humiliated Muslim World.

Unwarranted US interference in world affairs. 

Overwhelming China.

Reasserting Russia.

Reuniting Europe. 

Resurgent Japan and Pacific.

Steep fiscal cliff (as they call it) within US. 

Partial and one sided policies on Palestine, Kashmir, Nuclear Arms and capability.

Alienation of allies like Pakistan through overbearing attitude.

Choice is always available, sit, sleep and slip through the time or getup, get going, do your thing honestly and let time judge you impartially and objectively. What would Mr. Obama and his Administration do in impending term would decide his legacy. Let us wish him well.
