Salam and Duaien ...
What should be done to such people, Revenge?
Make them pay for what they did to us?
Fair enough, if we do that because it's all part of the normal reaction to relational pain.
We’ve all been there ...
We’ve all struggled with the devil that tries to convince us that 'we are ENTITLED to belittle the lives of those who belittled ours'.
But experience tells us that all of those times we have tried to ‘even the score', we didn’t actually feel better in the end.
A day comes where we look back and say 'we shouldn't have played the *getting even* game'. We feel worse that we had let our need for revenge hijack our normally compassionate hearts.
The people on the other side of the fence didn't realise the hurt they caused but our reaction may actually validate to them that we were worth attacking. Not the goal we aim for.
So the prudent advice could be ...
Another person’s actions are about THEM, not us. There is an INSECURITY inside of them that we CANNOT FIX.
Confidence is quiet. Insecurity is LOUD.
So we have to make the decision ...
To let it GO, or make them PAY?
Respond LOUDLY, staying in their lane or quietly let them pass on by?
By letting them pass and turning ourselves in a different direction, we can choose to take our heart out of their firing range. It is our way back to sanity and away from trying to correct someone else’s character – because we CAN’T ... So
FORGIVE AND FORGET - DIFFICULT THOUGH BUT DOABLE
Here is the TRUTH ...
We are not in charge of the harsh words that come out of another person’s mouth, or the ill-mannered actions that are created by another person’s heart.
We are in charge of how we handle the ripple of time after the incident.
We are responsible for where we direct our energy. If we take the hours away from our life to ruminate over that person’s words, we are giving them power that would likely be pretty satisfying for them. Are they worth it?
So we should Stand up ... Turn around ... Walk away the Other Way.
We must respect our own heart enough not to let it be damaged any more by revenging or arguing with people who have a crack in their souls that needs to be filled ... THAT is up to them.
Last and definitely not the LEAST ...
OUR ENERGIES MUST BE SPENT IN POSITIVE PURSUITS ... THERE ARE LOT OF LIGHTS REQUIRED TO BE LIT. LET US REKINDLE THE EXTINGUISHED LIGHTS AND BLOW THEM INTO A BIGGER FLAME ...LET US BE THE MOUNTAINS ... WHO WEATHER THE STORMS AND BLIZZARDS AND STILL STAND TALL ... AND ... NOT THE BURROWS WHICH INHABIT RODENTS AND POISONOUS SNAKES AND OVERFLOW BY DROPS ...
