RECEIVES GUIDANCE. No calamity can ever befall [man] unless it be by Allah's leave: Hence, WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ALLAH GUIDES HIS 'HEART' TOWARDS THE TRUTH....AT-TAGHABUN (64) : 11.

GAINS WISDOM AND COMPREHENDS. Have they, then, never journeyed about the earth, LETTING THEIR 'HEARTS' GAIN WISDOM........AL-HAJJ (22) : 46.

INCULCATES FEAR OF ALLAH AND STRENGTHENS BELIEF. Believers' 'HEARTS' tremble with awe whenever Allah is mentioned and whose faith is strengthened.....AL-ANFAL (8) : 2.

BRINGS PEACE AND SATISFACTION. Those who believe, and whose 'HEARTS' find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah DO HEARTS find satisfaction.....AR-RAAD (13) : 28.

SOURCE OF DESIRES. .....And know that Allah intervenes between man and [the desires of] his 'HEART'....AL-ANFAL (8) : 24.

One of the earliest and most remarkable of the eighteenth-century investigations of freedom and servitude is ROUSSEAU's Discourse on Inequality (1755), in many ways a revolutionary tract, In it, he seeks to "set forth the origin and progress of inequality, the establishment and abuse of political societies, insofar as these things can be deduced from the nature of man by the light of reason alone." 

His conclusions were sufficiently shocking that the judges of the prize competition of the Academy of Dijon, to whom the work was originally submitted, refused to hear the manuscript through. In it, Rousseau challenges the legitimacy of virtually every social institution, as well as individual control of property and wealth. 

These are "usurpations.....established only on a precarious and abusive right......having been acquired only by force, force could take them away without (the rich) having grounds for complaint." 

Not even property acquired by personal industry is held "upon better titles." Against such a claim, one might object: 

"Do you not know that a multitude of your brethren die or suffer from need of what you have in excess, and that you needed express and unanimous consent of the human race to appropriate for yourself anything from common subsistence that exceeded your own?' 

IT IS CONTRARY TO THE LAW OF NATURE THAT "A HANDFUL OF MEN BE GLUTTED WITH SUPERFLUITIES WHILE THE STARVING MULTITUDE LACKS NECESSARIES."

All that lives on earth or in the heavens is bound to pass away; but forever will abide your Sustainer's Self, full of Majesty and Glory. AL-RAHMAN (55) : 26-27.

We were out on the Golf Course early last sunday and the game looked pretty solid and in control. On the 17th I teed off and landed in the woods. Ball was relatively better placed for recovery; the choice I had to make was to get onto the Fairway giving away one stroke in the process or go for the Green through the woods which were quite thick and overbearing. I made the wrong choice of hitting through the woods - result - the ball required five knockings before it could reach the Green. 

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you;

Till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer;

Never give up then;

For that is just the place and time;

THAT THE TIDE WILL TURN.

'Beauty exists not in sameness but in difference.

Who could imagine a giraffe without its long neck or a cactus without its spines? 

The irregularity of the mountain peaks that surround us is what makes them so imposing. If we tried to make them all the same, they would no longer command our respect.

It is the imperfect that astonishes and attracts us.

When we look at a cedar tree, we don’t think: ‘The branches should be all the same length.’ We think: ‘How strong it is.’

When we see a snake, we never say: ‘He is crawling along the ground, while I am walking with head erect.’ We think: ‘He might be small, but his skin is colorful  his movements elegant, and he is more powerful than me.’

When the camel crosses the desert and takes us to the place we want to reach, we never say: ‘He’s humpbacked and has ugly teeth.’ 

We think: ‘He deserves my love for his loyalty and help. Without him, I would never be able to explore the world.’

A sunset is always more beautiful when it is covered with irregularly shaped clouds, because only then can it reflect the many colors out of which dreams and poetry are made.

Pity those who think: ‘I am not beautiful. That’s why Love has not knocked at my door.’ In fact, Love did knock, but when they opened the door, they weren’t prepared to welcome Love in.

They were too busy trying to make themselves beautiful first, when, in fact, they were fine as they were. 

They were trying to imitate others, when Love was looking for something original.

They were trying to reflect what came from outside, forgetting that the brightest light comes from within.'
