DEHKO MUJHE JO DEEDA-E-IBRAT NIGAH HO
Prayers for all.
It is a hot summer afternoon, just before 4 pm. All of a sudden the heavens have opened up and it has started raining heavily. From outside my door to skyline on the horizon on beautiful Margala Hills, everything is under the shower being washed and cooled by the KRM-E-KHUSUSI of Allah Karim. I am looking at beautiful Pakistan, the land of my and millions' dream. Millions who prayed/pray for it, millions who struggled for it, millions who perished for it, millions who longed for it but had to stay back, millions who looked up to it as THE HOPE for Islamic World, millions who still love it, live it and genuinely believe that it is an ATTIYA-E-KHUDA WANDI and "PHOOKON SE YEH CHIRAGH BUJHAYA NA JAEGA".
Allah Karim carved for us this beautiful land in DAR-UL-KUFR which boasted of thousands of years of history, where Muslims came as invaders but won the hearts and souls with their deeds and conduct. Where during the Raj and movement for independence majority of the Muslims of Sub-Continent became the practical manifestation of "AIK HOUN MUSLIM HARAM KI PASBANI KE LIYE". Where Muslims from East Bengal were the forerunners of the movement, Muslims from UP were the brain of the movement, where Sindhi, Balochi, Pathan and Punjabis rallied together and the Sub-Continent reverberated with chants "lE KE RAHEN GE PAKISTAN, BAN KE RAHE GA PAKISTAN - PAKISTAN KA MATLAB KIYA LA ILLAHA ILLALAH". Where Fazle Haqs tabled the resolution in 1940 and Suhrewardis moved the amendment to a - state from Muslim majority states - in 1946. Where everyone understood what the English speaking Quaid was saying because "BAAT JO DIL SE NIKALTI HAI ASAR RAKHTI HAI".
But then the decay, the phenomenon of being UNGRATEFUL to Allah Karim. The Giant met his Creator and pygmies took over, ineptitude became the norm, corruption and self serving motives extinguished the light of motivation. In-fighting on power, on language, on resources ensued. Leeches started sucking the blood from the arteries. First Seven years could yield only the OBJECTIVE RESOLUTION and anarchy. Those who were the flag bearers were declared outcasts, those who were never to be seen during the struggle assumed the mental of skippering the ship. Musical Chairs of comers and leavers saw the insane, greedy, manipulators and power hungry rulers replacing each other "NAIRANGI-E-SIASAT-E-DAURAN TOU DEKHIYE - MANZIL UNEHN MILI JO SHARIK-E-SAFAR NA THE".
And then came 1971, JO MILA THA WOH LUTANE KE LIYE AAYE HEIN. Just 23 years and brothers could not stay together. I remember, and all of my generation and our elders have still not forgotten December 1971, the grief, the gloom, the embrassment mujhe yaad hai zara zara.
1590, Muslim Spain fell and with it fell its Libraries and its treasure of knowledge, its universities, people like George Beacon were the product of Muslim Spain. A dark night descended on Muslims, through a deliberate effort Muslims were taken away from IQRA, from TATAFAKARUN (EVALUATION AND ANALYSIS) and where there is no EVALUATION, there is no EVOLUTION.
Lets not talk about Muslim Spain, just start from 1947, have we ever indulged in finding the truth? analyzing it and formulating the future courses of action so that mistakes of yesterday become the leading light for our today and tomorrow? The answer is NO.
I have recently read Sarmila Bose's "Dead Reckoning", Memories of the 1971 Bangladesh War and I am astonished on the effort, the writer has put in to find the truth or something near that. I mentioned it to an elder of mine who was very kind to share some more valuable things on the subject for which I am grateful to him. My next post will include the shared material. I recommend the book to all those who enjoy reading and learning.
