THE MAN OF LIFE UPRIGHT

As-Salaam-O-alaykum, wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh.

All praises for Allah Karim;  Whom we must worship for 'Him Alone' ! Darood-o-Salam on Prophet ﷺ because Allah Karim ordained us to do that ! Peace upon Prophet's (ﷺ)  family, company, successors and those who follow his path.

Friends ! We humans are the best creation of God Almighty. To make us what He SWT wants us to be, a wholesome curricula of integrated and progressive programmed guidance was commissioned through His chosen Messengers and Teaches from Adam A.S to Muhammad ﷺ. Yet most of the humanity through ages utilizing its discretionary prowess has manifested an entirely opposite disposition. Tyranny, terror, injustice, inequality, brutality and baseness have been its hallmark. Uprightness is scarce and akin to 'stupidity'......Therefore, when I came across this beautiful rendition by Thomas Campion I couldn't resist sharing : 

The Man of Life Upright,

Whose guiltless heart is free

From all dishonest deeds

Or thought of vanity; 

The Man whose silent days

In harmless joys are spent,

Whom hopes cannot delude

Nor sorrow discontent: 

 

 That man needs neither towers

 Nor armour for defence,

 Nor secret vaults to fly

 From thunder's violence.

  

 He only can behold

 With unaffrighted eyes

 The horrors of the deep

 And terrors of the skies.

 Thus scorning all the cares

 That fate or fortune brings, 

 He makes the Heaven his book,  

 His wisdom heavenly things;

Good thoughts his only friends,

His wealth a well-spent age, 

The earth his sober inn

And quite pilgrimage.

May we all be people of Life Upright...
