AIM - WHAT IT SHOULD BE?

Pakistani Parliament is completing its prescribed tenure latest by 15 March 2013. Expectancy for Elections and a CHANGE is there in the air. Political Parties, Leaders, Analysts, Courts and (to some extent) Masses too are talking, hoping and gesturing. Election Commission is busy telling the aspirants to get their Parties registered, hold intra party elections and complete all relevant details to stand eligible for "GETTING IN THE RING".

Public gatherings, membership drive and preparation for Manifestoes is the 'ORDER OF THE DAY' but what should be aimed? Just to be in the seat of Power or something else too? I came across following worth a read:
It is important that aim must never be defined in terms of activity or method. It must always relate directly as to how LIFE IS BETTER FOR EVERYONE. The aim of the System must be clear to everyone in the System. THE AIM MUST INCLUDE PLANS FOR THE FUTURE.
THE AIM MUST BE A VALUE JUDGEMENT.

Conformism definitely brings  'cares' and 'elevation' (on merit/otherwise) while keeping pleased the powers that are; but kills internally because we have to behave like 'something' and not 'someone'.........................And when someday we start 'breathing' again we find no buyers and incur ridicule from all corners including those for whom we had gone overboard to conform with   -   Result: further degradation.

That deeply reflecting man known as Khalil Gibran had said "NEVER MIND IF OTHERS LOOK DOWN ON YOU - BUT WHEN YOU START LOOKING DOWN ON YOURSELF YOU HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND A DEEP TROUBLE AT HAND".

.....................WHY WE ORDINARY MORTALS LAG BEHIND THE TIME THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES?

I heard a dialogue today which is worth a note:
A distressed young man walks up to his older friend and tells him his problem "Man I am in a real mess. I love my job and my wife too. My wife left her country to marry me. My job mostly keeps me 'on the road' and now my wife wants me to quit and be at home" Oh I see, sighs the barbecuing friend "I also faced similar problem but we reached a compromise".  Did you quit the job asked the young man? "No; I retained the job and my wife divorced me". "What should I learn from this? Asked the young man  "Learn what I learnt said the experienced friend" ..........and what was that? MOVE-ON that is - which I learnt and you must too.
MORAL: MOVE-ON. We must live our lives fully, taking chances, being crazy if required. No one should wait cause right now we are the oldest we have ever been & the youngest we will be ever again.

This weekend blended diversity and afforded a chance to travel, interact and REFLECT.

It is the Holy Month of Rabi-ul-Awal and Friday marked EID-E-MILAD-UN-NABI. Preparations for celebration started with the sighting of the moon. (Not withstanding the differences of opinion on the subject - which area a FACT) One saw a great integration amongst different segments of the society, sectarian harmony and an aura of general festivity. Mahafils, Seminars and other functions are being held punctuated with beautiful renditions of NAATs by renowned NAAT KHAWNs. and description of various aspects of SEERAT-UN-NABI (SAWS) by religious scholars. (Unfortunately  though there is a little divide here too. Civilian population areas/ localities exhibited great festive look, buildings, houses, streets, markets in fact every inch was illuminated and there were processions and other activities; whereas quarters housing the affluent looked sort of blacked out).

Without getting into the merits and demerits of all above, my inference and preference is that:
THE PROPHET SAWS is the most recorded personality in the entire history of mankind - Allah Karim has described him as the best one to emulate. There must be a very serious endeavor at all levels to teach, learn and practice every single aspect of his (saws) SEERAT and if we do that I have no doubt  whatsoever that we as Ummah will regain our past glory and become the role models for the humanity as Allah SWT wants to be.

Starting in the name of Allah SWT with His Kalam:
Say: "O Allah! Creator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of all that is hidden and open! it is You that will judge between Your Servants in those matters about which they have differed." Even if the wrong-doers had all that there is on earth, and as much more, (in vain) would they offer it for ransom from the pain of the Penalty on the Day of Judgment: but something will confront them from Allah, which they could never have counted upon! AZ-ZUMAR (39) : 46-47.
A lot has happened in the last few days, carnage at Quetta and the resultant SIT-IN, imposition of Governor Rule (which may be as 'efficient' as the Raisani Government was - Rule [mis], Rule hota hai CM ka ho ya Governor Ka), Long March and DHARNA - Islamabad Declaration.  RPPs have started taking life. LOC is brewing up a storm with Indian Media and Opposition there making a mountain out of a mole hill. This side AMAN KI ASHA as usual and by the way say WELL DONE to GENRAL PERVEZ M for saying what SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAID. 

In the last post we had seen five attributes of Muflihoon, lets see few more:
6.     They do not enter the faith through back door i.e. without being conscious of Allah SWT by just observing the fringe rituals. AL-BAQARAH (2) : 189.
7.     They enjoin doing good and forbid doing what is wrong. AL-IMRAN (3) : 104.
8.     They do no gorge themselves on usury (SOOD).  AL-IMRAN (3) : 130.
9.     They remain patient in adversity.
10.    They vie in patience with one another.
11.    They remain ever ready to do right and remain conscious of Allah SWT.
 AL-IMRAN (3) : 200.

Allah Karim SWT Says in Quran:
O you who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: And spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would abhor it...But fear Allah: For Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. AL-HUJURAAT (49) : 12.
Dr. Tahir Qadri: He came, sat, talked and left. In my previous post on the subject I had said that problem areas in governance, adherence to rules and regulations and implementation of Constitutional  Provisions highlighted by him could not be challenged. I had some questions for learned Dr. and few for all political stake holders.

He, however, marched with his followers and 'sat' infront of Parliament House (now famous D Chowk) for more than 80 hours. Entire nation remained glued to TV screens witnessing the unmatched and unprecedented calm and discipline of his disciples, abounding prowess of oratory by him (which was at times theatrical and oft-rhetorical) and sensible handling of the situation by the authorities, though clumsiness could have been cast anytime by someone who probably would be the first person on board a flight to the land of 'Plans' come 16 March 2013.

The sit-in ended with an agreement called as Islamabad Long March declaration without any loss of life and property (Time? - we as a Nation have never cared about). All sorts of speculations, comments and analysis are orbiting the Planets - TV, InterNet, Print, Cosy Corners, Telephone and Wireless chats, Road Side Tea Stalls, Drawing Rooms and Living Areas (Offices being no exception off course); all politically, religiously, ethnically, socially and foolishly motivated. Someone is claiming victory, another is rubbishing it as 'FIXED', yet another is calling it a 'Proxy for Establishment', few are depressed that why there was no bloodshed others are happy that there was no TALIBAAN ATTACK, few are still clamoring that there would be an attack and so on JITNE MOONH ITNI BAATEIN, polarization of the society is so overwhelming.  

The spectacle has its oscillations. Lets see some of the 'valleys' first:
Diagnosis by Dr. Qadri were/are correct but some of his demands were far fetched and "COULD NEVER BE ACCEPTED" writ large over them. 
It was foolish at the least to expose people of all ages and gender to such extremes, if he had wanted to prove a point he could just have marched peacefully (as he did) and then dispersed after having shown his strength and demanding 'Dialogue'.
Deaf ears and paralyzed reaction to the misery of people displayed by the Government of the Day. It only jumped into action when the danger to life and property became very real and that too after a nod from the President himself.
Very selfish approach by political players displaying a vivid penchant for the status-quo and the fact that 'nobody is interested in reformation of the system' CHAI PAANI CHALTAA REHNA CHAHIYE. 
The Peaks are:
This was one of the biggest wave of human storm to have landed on the shores of Islamabad and not a leaf dropped due to action of the participants. Tremendous discipline and monumental control. (KOI MAANE YA NAH MANNE) It was a 'very first' in the tumultuous history of Pakistan.
Armed Forces and Intelligence Agencies had no role whatsoever in the entire episode and did not budge an inch from their constitutional obligations. Another First in the history of Pakistan.
The saga may.. and I say... may make the electoral process more objective. 
It has also stamped the arrival of general elections at due time.
It must have given the realization to the Stake Holders that the Nation may rise again if there is no positive development in the right direction.
The unanimous opposing call by relevant people and parties when a threat for 'targeted action' sounded.
The fact that no terror activity took place and that a better face of Islam (talking about religious harmony and rights of minorities was good) and Pakistan was presented by the participants of March and Sit-In.   
There can be many more not listed. Praise be to Allah Karim that it has ended on a positive note. Though late but all concerned displayed maturity as it was very obvious that leaned Dr. had become edgy and if Government had not responded positively some ugliness would have surfaced.

Dr. Qadri must now plan to be part of the electoral process as he has tested his strength and should also make an earnest effort to unite his constituency so that he could do something for the reforms he has been demanding.
